Nuestra historia

A dream
that crossed a border.

The story behind Cleo's — in our owner's own words.

Cleo working in her salon

I was raised in a small, traditional town in Mexico, near Monclova — where life was simple, but expectations were not. Where women were taught to serve, to nurture, to stay small… and dreams were often something you carried silently.

But even then, something inside me refused to be quiet.

I come from a place where strength isn't loud — it's woven into early mornings, tired hands, and unspoken sacrifices. Where women carry generations on their backs and still find a way to stand with grace.

My life changed the day I became a United States citizen — not just because I crossed a border, but because I crossed into possibility.

I married a man from my hometown — a man who didn't silence my dreams, but protected them. A man who spent 45 years working in construction for the City of San Antonio… and then came home to build our dream with his own hands.

Not just walls — but a future. A legacy. A place we could call ours.

This salon is not just a business.
It is love, sacrifice, faith,
and years of believing
when it was hard to believe.

Celia Martínez once wrote of women like us — women who cross countries, carry their traditions in their hearts, and rebuild their lives from nothing.

She called them warriors.
And I carry that word with honor.

To my children —

Everything I am, everything I've built, everything I dream… is for you. May God always protect you, may you always feel deeply loved, and may you grow knowing there is nothing in this world you cannot overcome.

And to my clients — my extended family —

You are the reason this dream breathes. Every appointment, every visit, every moment you choose us — you are doing more than supporting a small business.

You are lifting a dream that began in a small town far from here. You are honoring generations of women who came before me. You are proving to the world that dreams — no matter where they begin — are worthy of being seen.

You are part of this story.

And I pray that God shines His light on your lives the same way you have shined it on mine.
